🎉New mini-grant projects announced! 🎉
We funded three different pollinator gardens for our Seneca and Keuka pilot chapter:
- Dutton S. Peterson Memorial Library
- Montour Falls Memorial Library
- Town of Hector Sustainability Committee
Libraries contribute to their communities beyond their roles in providing programs, resources, and services. According to the Sustainable Libraries Initiatives, “Libraries play an important and unique role in promoting community awareness about resilience, climate change, and a sustainable future.”
The Town of Hector Sustainability Committee is a group of volunteer residents focused on climate mitigation and adaptation for the Town of Hector. They have been assisting the town in becoming a certified Climate Smart Community, which has resulted in grant funding for local climate action.
Sustainable Finger Lakes has awarded more than 242 mini-grants and over $100,000 in funding for projects just like this one. Recently, we’ve expanded our program to Seneca, Yates, and Schuyler counties with plans to expand to Chemung, Steuben, and Tioga counties. This year, our campaign is raising funds for the 2026 grant cycle.
Give the gift of a mini-grant. Any donations made through Dec. 2 will contribute directly to our mini-grant fund. To support us, go to: sustainablefingerlakes.org/support-us/
