Event Overview:
Join community members, legal advocates, and climate justice leaders in defending New York’s right to enforce its climate laws — and in demanding accountability from Greenidge Generation, a fossil-fueled crypto mine that has polluted Seneca Lake without a valid air permit for three years.
These events are part of the Wines Not Mines campaign — a movement to protect the Finger Lakes from dirty crypto operations that threaten water, air, and public trust.
Why It Matters:
- Greenidge has operated illegally for 3+ years despite DEC’s permit denial
- Seneca Lake and nearby communities face real risks from emissions and thermal pollution
- The facility sets a dangerous precedent for other fossil-powered crypto mines statewide
- This is the test case for New York’s Climate Act — we need to show up and speak out
