GreenSpark Solar, which is located in Rochester, NY and which installs solar energy systems throughout Central New York, is a certified Top Workplace, Top Solar Contractor, and a NYSERDA Gold Quality Solar Installer. The latter certifications are based on GreenSpark’s stellar work in installing both residential and commercial solar energy systems. The company is a certified Top Workplace due to its commitment to exceeding industry standards in the benefits it affords its employees. The goal was to “ensure our culture comes first, and our people love what they do and who they do it with.”
One employee, Kelsey, explained that, “What’s different about us is our commitment to values. We value collaboration and a triple bottom line of people, planet, and profit. ” This commitment motivated GreenSpark to become a B-Corp—a company dedicated to improving the lives of its workers and the communities it serves. GreenSpark Solar was founded by Kevin Schulte in 2002. It was Schulte who decided to dedicate some of the company’s resources to applying for and earning its B-Corp certification, which was granted to GreenSpark in 2015.
