Today, to mark Energy Justice Day, a coalition of climate, health, political, and faith organizations launched the next phase of a multi-year campaign to demand Governor Hochul include key climate priorities in her upcoming 2025-2026 Executive Budget Proposal.
These include passing the full NY HEAT ACT, legislation that would limit customers’ bills to 6% of their household earnings and tackle the largest source of climate pollution in New York: buildings.
The coalition is also calling on Gov. Hochul to include additional priorities in her 2025 agenda that will help the state achieve the goals of its landmark climate law, the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act. Read the letter here.
