As you may know, the Finger Lakes Tourism Alliance (FLTA) is working to secure a National Heritage Area designation for the Finger Lakes.
Why is this good for us?
National Heritage Areas (NHA) expand on traditional approaches to resource stewardship by supporting large-scale, community driven initiatives that connect local citizens to the preservation and planning process. Designation comes with limited financial and technical assistance from the National Park Service, AKA, consideration of community input in relation to development decisions & money!!!
How we can make it happen:
The Finger Lakes Tourism Alliance will be collecting everyone’s comments and resolutions and submit them to the National Park Service as a book! If you want to help them with that, please get your comments, resolutions and letters of support to the Finger Lakes Tourism Alliance by May 15th, 2021.
